Accessibility at Scholaro

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Scholaro is committed to providing an accessible experience for all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to ensure that our website and web-based applications are usable by the widest possible audience and are continuously improving accessibility as part of our product development and quality assurance processes.

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time certification.

Accessibility Standards and Guidelines

Scholaro aims to align with the following accessibility standards and best practices:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA

  • Industry-recognized accessibility testing methodologies

  • Inclusive design principles for web-based software applications

While we do not currently claim formal WCAG certification or provide a VPAT, we actively evaluate and improve accessibility across our platform.

Accessibility Testing and Evaluation

Scholaro evaluates accessibility using a combination of automated and manual review processes, including:

Automated Testing

  • Google Lighthouse (Chrome DevTools)

  • Lighthouse uses the axe-core accessibility engine, a widely adopted industry-standard tool

  • Automated checks include:

    • Proper use of ARIA attributes

    • Form and control labeling

    • Keyboard focusability

    • Logical tab order

    • Semantic HTML structure

    • Visibility and contrast considerations

Automated testing is performed on public-facing pages and representative application workflows.

Manual Review

Because automated tools cannot identify all accessibility issues, Scholaro also performs manual reviews of core user workflows to evaluate:

  • Keyboard-only navigation

  • Focus behavior for dynamic content

  • Overall usability for assistive technology users

Findings from automated and manual testing are reviewed and addressed as part of ongoing product maintenance and improvement cycles.

Scope and Limitations

  • Accessibility testing focuses on primary user-facing functionality and commonly used workflows.

  • Certain areas of the application may require additional manual evaluation depending on usage context.

  • Automated testing can identify many, but not all, accessibility issues. As such, accessibility improvements are iterative and ongoing.

Continuous Improvement

Scholaro considers accessibility a continuous improvement process. Identified issues are prioritized based on severity and user impact and are addressed as part of regular development updates.

As standards, tools, and user needs evolve, our accessibility practices evolve accordingly.
